I was hesitant about coming here because of the mixed reviews. However, we have my 14 year old sister staying with us and she currently has no insurance. When she woke up on a Sunday with extreme back pain that wouldn't go away, we decided to bring her here. From the moment we walked in they were very attentive. The nurse comforted her and was able to get her to explain through her tears what was wrong. I felt a bit bad for the receptionist. She had a very put upon air. I was on the phone explaining to my mother that I had to pay for it out of pocket and they couldn't bill her and the lady behind the counter quickly tried to explain why they couldn't bill. I told her I understood and it wasn't a problem. I suppose it IS a problem for a lot of people that walk through the door and she might be used to people arguing with her. Everyone here is so nice and really seem to care about my health. They go out of their way to be nice, even when I'm at the doctor feeling terrible. I would definitely recommend this office to others. In fact, I already have. My only real complaint: the tools and equipment were clean, certainly the dental hygiene student washed her hands, changed her gloves frequently, covered me with a drape and goggles, etc., but the floor was pretty grungy in the corners and even the base of the chair was grimy. The place could definitely stand a good cleaning. Okay, I admit my dentist's office could stand a good cleaning as well. Do your grocery shopping in advance, picking up all the ingredients you need to prepare your meals. Chief complaints and vital signs were used to categorize patients as high-risk or nonemergent based on previously published criteria. A total of 2,965 adult managed care patients presented to the ED during the study period, representing 11.1% of the total ED census. Of these patients, 244 (8.2%) were denied authorization for payment of their care. By previously established criteria, 115 (47.1%) were identified as potentially unstable, 61 (53%) due to abnormal vital signs and 54 (47%) with other high-risk indications such as severe pain, chest pain, or abdominal pain. These potentially high-risk patients may subsequently suffer adverse outcomes.
