So I went to a Little Clinic at and waited about an hour to see a nurse practitioner, who spent about 20 minutes with me. In that time, she asked several questions about my symptom progression, looked more closely into my ears and nose than either previous doctor, felt swollen glands in my throat - and then explained what she had seen. She said I did have an ear infection and needed to stay on the amoxicillin, but noted that it was not clearing up because it was caused by a sinus infection that amoxicillin couldn't fully cover.
