The introduction of microdialysis with novel physiological targets may optimize the goals of the original Lund protocol. The 'Rosner concept' emphasizes maintaining a high CPP to minimize reflex vasodilatation or ischemia 126 , 127 at the expense of added cardiopulmonary stress (Class IIA, Level of Evidence B).
