During one point, he left the office and came back after 20 minutes. For a additional 20 minutes he spoke with a friend of some kine and no one else. When I finally got a chance to see him, not only did he not give me a consultation and examination physical as I had scheduled, but he only checked my heart rate when he should have checked my blood pressure first. Based on the research I found on 3 reputable sites. The information he provided was inaccurate as is contradicted what my previous doctor had discussed with me. Admittedly, he said he was not familiar with what I was asking and needed to do a Google search on the topic. Shocked, I googled my prescription to give him the necessary information for his search. I should have left then, but stayed, only to have him continue to give me misinformation, that I knew was inaccurate as I my primary doctor advised otherwise. He then rushed me out, clearly embarrassed and not able to give me any information and I was correcting his statements, all he could do was tell me i needed a specialist, and that he would recommend me one. I HAVE NEVER NEEDED A SPECIALIST TO RECOMMEND BIRTH CONTROL, THAT IS RIDICULOUS. He was just not knowledgeable and seem very inexperienced. He was quick to rush me out, and placed the blame on me, and said I should have seen a gynecologist. The fact is: (this can easily be verified online) Your regular doctor can often do double duty, providing your general medical needs as well as your gynecological needs. If your family doctor doesn't do pelvic exams, she/he can still prescribe you birth control on a regular or temporary basis, though she's likely to insist you see a gynecologist at some point for your routine pelvic exam. Unfortunately Dr. Fuzayloff is not a well rounded doctor in his field. From the reviews I saw on Zoc Doc (after the fact) they all say he was not knowledgeable in their issues and were rushed out as well. My overall experience was pretty poor. The goal of this study is to evaluate interventions to increase acceptance of, and follow through with, hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccination in patients attending sexually transmitted disease ( STD ) clinics. The 1st specific aim is to assess the effect of message-framing on vaccine acceptance. Framing theory suggests that positively framed messages (i.e., benefits of getting vaccine) are more effective than negatively framed messages (i.e., dangers of not getting vaccine) in stimulating preventive health behaviors. Research on Framing Theory and engagement in health behaviors suggests also that the effects may be moderated by other attitudinal factors, including perceived risk of the behavior and degree of involvement in the message. The 2nd aim is to evaluate the effect of provider-based interventions. Prior research suggests that recommendations by health providers are very important in patients' decisions regarding acceptance of health care procedures. The 3rd aim is to examine the effect of the interventions on follow-through with the 2nd & 3rd dose. Patients (18 years and older) will be recruited and followed from Chicago and Indianapolis STD clinics during routine medical visits. An audio computer-assisted self-interview (A-CASI) will cover demographics, risk behaviors, and perceived risk associated with vaccination. Subjects then will be randomized to receive a gain-framed, loss-framed, or information only message regarding HBV immunization (also delivered by A-CASI). Upon completion of the message-framing intervention, subjects will complete additional attitude questions via A-CASI. In addition, a randomly selected 50% of subjects will be asked questions regarding their intention to accept free HBV vaccination, enabling us to examine the effects on behavior of asking intention. Upon completion of the A-CASI subjects will be randomly assigned to one of two provider intervention conditions: 1. vaccine offered or 2. vaccine recommended. For both conditions free HBV immunization will be provided by a nurse practitioner. Subsequently, postcard reminders will be sent and phone call reminders made for follow-up appointments for those receiving the first and second doses of vaccine.
