This past Tuesday I was at the Immediate Clinic in Bellevue. I was so impressed by the cleanliness and promptness but by far, most of all, I was impressed by the patient care. I have the utmost confidence in doctor Brooks. He is a great listener, very intuitive, knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. He made sure I understood all instructions before I left and I never felt like he was rushing me out of the room for the next patient (which I often feel at other places). Hyma, one of the MAs, was incredibly patient and professional. She went over the details of everything she did to make sure I understood and was comfortable with the process. Also, the place was spotless which is always important and finally there is an urgent care clinic with a reader board so you know how long you will have to wait (it was pretty accurate too). By Friday, all previous symptoms were worse, and I had such extreme vertigo and nausea that I couldn't drive and had to carry a garbage bag just to walk from room to room. So I went to a Little Clinic at and waited about an hour to see a nurse practitioner, who spent about 20 minutes with me. In that time, she asked several questions about my symptom progression, looked more closely into my ears and nose than either previous doctor, felt swollen glands in my throat - and then explained what she had seen. She said I did have an ear infection and needed to stay on the amoxicillin, but noted that it was not clearing up because it was caused by a sinus infection that amoxicillin couldn't fully cover. My cat was tragically hit by a car on a Thursday night. We took her to the emergency hospital in LA and after $1,400 in x-rays and other exams, the vet said she had 3 pelvic fractures and needed a pretty complicated surgery. They quoted us almost $10,000!! I love my cat very very much, but I just could not afford to pay that much money. We had the idea to take her to Mexico and started looking for clinics near the border. I am SO happy we found Vet Playas! We drove south right away and arrived in Tijuana around 7:30am. One of the owners, Ron, opened the office and asked the doctor who was on call to come in. Long story short, everyone was super nice, the clinic was small but very clean and well equipped. One of the vets there is an orthopedic surgeon, who performed the surgery on my cat, which included placing a screw in her pelvis. She had to stay there for a total of 5 days, and every day we got text updates and pictures, which made us feel so much better about having our little girl so far away.
