They primarily take care of illnesses and injuries that re not serious enough to require a hospital ER visit but do require immediate care. Urgent care centers are usually not open on a 24-hour basis like a hospital emergency room, please check the hours of operation before heading out the door. The treatment went well. The doctor was able to treat the infection and get me back to normal. My only complaint was the extreme expense for the urgent care treatment, which I later found out was not covered by my insurance (though the office said I was covered). I was left with a pretty expensive bill. I paid, but would have preferred to know in advance that it wasn't covered in my policy.
