I took my 6 year old daughter to the take care clinic for sore throat, headache, and fever. Arrived at 4:10pm and was informed by staff that they were closed and opened at 10:30 am the next day. I then asked if they had other patients because the sign clearly stated they were open until 4:30. Was told that they did not have any other patients but had paperwork to get done and had to leave by 4:30. Stated that they quit seeing patients at 4:00. Well then maybe closing time should be 4:00 not 4:30. I don't know of any doctors offices that quit seeing patients prior to closing time. When checking website could not find anywhere that says they quit seeing patients at 4:00 and also said most spots only take 20 min. I came in with what I believed to be an allergic reaction. I was never actually seen by the doctor, just a nurse who told me that it was probably an allergic reaction. I've never been told that I probably have something by a doctor's office, and found this to be incredibly unprofessional language. They completed no test to determine whether I in fact did have an allergic reaction, and never brought a doctor in to see me. I was in the examination room for no more than 5 minutes and I was sent on my way without so much as a prescription. If this office was not able to properly diagnose or care for an allergic reaction, then I should have been told as much, and therefore in my view, not receive a bill for care. When I received a bill for this appointment, I decided to file a claim with my insurance, citing that this was not adequate care and that I never even saw a doctor. This office has made it impossible to even pursue my claim as they have not cooperated with my insurance company in holding the bill until the claim is investigated, which according to my insurance company is standard protocol, although elective. Instead they sent my bill to collections.
