This morning I volunteered to help unemployed folks (most with little-no education past their high school diploma) create resumes, apply for jobs and also explain how the job application process works. It was really a wonderful experience. I was able to utilize my Spanish to help a young gentleman freshen up his resume for a bartending job and also explained a bit how Microsoft Office works. We completed his resume and printed it out for him to distribute to various restaurants and bars in his area. It was very rewarding and I felt that I was able to utilize my job application/resume experience to help someone out.
