Went in bc I wasn't feeling well, it was a weekend, and doctor's offices were closed already. After being seen by their doctor, one of the nurses/medical assistants came in with antibiotic pills and a shot. I asked what the name of the antibiotics were bc you should always know what kind of medicine you're taking, and she responded with I dunno, I just know they're antibiotics. That was strike one. Next was time for the shot. Right before she gave it, I started asking more questions like what the shot was called, what it was for, etc. Once again, she replied with haha I honestly don't know. I just know I'm s'posed to give it to you... Strike two. NOT reassuring at all... It made me start wondering things like 'OMG does she even know how to administer a shot? Will she know to take the air bubbles out of the syringe before she gives it? What if I die from those air bubbles getting in my blood stream?! What if she gives it in the wrong place?! She doesn't even know what the name is!!!!!'. So as you can tell... I was super uncomfortable laying there with those awful thoughts while I endured my unknown shot. After that segment... they collected my card for payment, and then left without a word. I sat and waited for the doctor to come back to finish the visit up with my results, etc. I sat in there a REALLY long time. The nurse/med assistant finally came back and was surprised I was still there. Uh yeah I'm still here? You guys just took my money and didn't tell me I could go yet, not to mention doc never came back to tell me why I even needed the shot? So she got the doctor, who eventually came back in the room. She too seemed surprised that I had questions or that she even needed to come back to explain the medicine. She seemed kind of in a rush too. Strike 3. I've never been to a clinical setting before that thought it was okay to administer meds, take money, and not follow up with your patient on why they needed the medication to begin with...
