After walking out of our local TO hospital ER due to incredibly rude staff, I begrudgingly agreed to try the new Urgent Care near us. I wish I could leave this place with NO stars. I went there on a Saturday afternoon, five months pregnant and pretty sure I had a sinus infection. I had met my deductible and Out of Pocket for over a month when I went into visit. At the end of check-in the lady at the front desk informed me I would have to pay my copay. I politely went over my deductible and OOP being met for 2016 so I wouldn't have to pay anything. She continued to inform me that urgent care is different then regular visits. I shared with her I work for one of the largest hospitals in the Houston area and I do insurance for them on a daily basis. I asked to be billed because I would not be responsible for that. She replied stating that they do not do payment plans for my copay amount. I also shared that I had an HSA card and if I were to pay with that I would infact have to deal with the headache of trying to get my refund from them. The lady behind the desk by no means was concerned with patient care, only with obtaining the money. We visited this place once before and had a wonderful experience with my 3 year old little boy.
