Dr. Lu has been seeing my mother for over 20 years. It started with my mother's old neck injury which made her unable to sit and write at a desk. Dr. Lu fixed that. Throughout the years, he is the go-to person whenever she has any ache or pain due to various incidents of injuries. Years later, my mother had a horrible back pain injury that scares the hell of me and my sister. We thought she is going to pass out from the pain. Dr. Lu once again come to the rescue. He opened the clinic early that day and came out to help my sister and I carry my mother into the clinic. Of course, he fixed my mother up again. I injured my back while being too aggressive on some horseback riding moves, and no surprise, Dr. Lu fixed that too. The most recent event is that my mother wakes up with TMD. After seeing Dr. Lu for four weeks now, she is as good as new. We have referred numerous friends and family to see Dr. Lu. Some of them actually make it a monthly routine to see him. I understand that there is a problem with people abusing pain meds on Staten Island but this was a little presumptuous. This office is for urgent care. What if you go in with an injury? They are going to offer you Tylenol? That was odd to me. After that I noticed tons of signage and displays for a diet plan. Who goes to an ER seeking diet options? I thought that was strange. Then the doctor's behavior really put me over the edge. It was almost exactly as the previous reviewer described. The doctor gave me a full anatomy lesson on why I was congested and why he thought antibiotics would be ineffective. He had a color picture of the inside of a person's face and was really trying to teach me about the inner workings of my sinuses. On a day when I didn't have a POUNDING headache I maybe would have thought that was useful but probably not. I doubt anyone that is sick enough to go to urgent care is interested in listening to a doctor talk for a solid 15 minutes about why they are sick.
