I despise this place, if I could give negative stars, I would. Helpful and friendly until you refuse their excessive fees and testing then they treat you like crap. Unfortunately, they are they only option I'm aware of near us. Basically the only thing they are good for is treating with pain meds to keep your animal somewhat comfortable until you can see a real vet. As others have stated, they hold your animal hostage, won't give you any updates until the girl comes in with the itemized bill listing all the necessary tests and procedures. Took my cat there about 6 months back, they got me for over $900 because they are good at that, no,until we run tests we have NO IDEA what could be wrong. BS, while I was sitting there waiting, I googled and found the exact cause, which after their tests they said they still weren't sure, now they need another $500 to test for something else. Um, no. I took him to regular vet in the morning and he was diagnosed immediately. They care about nothing but money. I understand this is a business and not a charity but these people are seriously shady, greedy and heartless. Was stuck returning this weekend for a trauma injury, same crap. The location is great, the staff is friendly and the attention is as good as seeing our normal pediatrician. I have no complaints. I had a great experience with Lyons Family Eye Care! Dr. Lyons is very knowledgeable and pleasant to interact with. I also found the staff to be really helpful in the frame selection process, which is rare. For the first time, I was actually successful at finding frames that fit my face. I've been to every major optometry chain and many of the smaller boutique practices in the city searching for frames, and I always end up settling for something that I'm not crazy about. I went here, for what I assumed what a sinus infection (I've had several and know the symptoms), and don't believe I was treated properly. The lady at the front was very nice, but their insurance checker or something wasn't working, so it cost me $80, and they said I would get $60 back into my bank account within the next couple days (confusing). The woman nurse was polite, but the doctor I saw, didn't really listen. She kind of made me feel stupid for coming in, and just gave me cough syrup and Mortin. After 2 days, I was even worse so I came back and asked to see someone else. (Another $20 copay) This doctor actually listened and was helpful. Not the warmest guy, but he gave me a z-pack, and I was better within days. It wasn't too crowded, only had to wait about 5 minutes, and was out within 20 minutes both times. All doctors are certainly aware of the differences in medical problems of the young and of the old. What doctors, who do not regularly treat the elderly, are not usually aware of is the fact that older people often have multiple problems at the same time and symptoms from one may be misleading or mask symptoms from the other. Consider the example above of the lady with low thyroid, malnutrition and depression. Her health care providers failed to test for or even recognize these combinations and the interplay they had on worsening her depression. They even misdiagnosed her depression as age-related dementia. Anyway, I read about the medication and was absolutely THRILLED. I couldn't believe it!
